I am starting my 34th year of teaching--30 of which have been at Skyline. Contact me via e-mail: [email protected]
Currently, I am teaching three classes: The College English Block classes (1101 and 1110) are dual enrollment courses. Students receive high school credit but also can earn six college English credits.
Advanced Placement English Literature is a college-level class that requires students to read extensively and write analytically about those readings. Students take a test in May, which determines the level/number of credits earned. This can also depend on the university a student chooses to attend.
The last class I teach is Senior English. This class follows the national common core standards and places emphasis on students improving writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills.
I have both a bachelors and masters In English. I love writing and have published a variety of works
including a poetry book and a journal article on the poet William Blake. During the school year, I am an extremely busy full-time Skyline teacher and a part-time ISU instructor. I have the best students! In the summer I enjoy walking my dogs Lucy and JoJo, camping, fishing, reading, traveling, and taking classes.
This picture was taken at Warwickshire Castle, which is located close to Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford, England.
